Summary of Discussion

Structure of the journal articles

What we are looking for with the POC memorials

  • must think about where there were minorities and were there were majorities
  • and about the community that they are in – whereas if they are within a black community those signifiers aren’t as evident to them

Intersectionality CURC Plans

  • getting round tables to look at how representation is ongoing in Trump era
    • then one on violence and looking at structural violence
  • looking at expanding the interdisciplinary reach in Concordia.
  • Aiming to gather book chapters from those who participate in the tables and have it published in the Fall
  • Article in journal of Pedagogy & Cultural Studies by Angela Fallier where she speaks about dealing with difficult knowledge
  • The journals that we are keeping regarding the memorialization work will also help speak on this
